Amy Batchelor and Andrew Currie founded SVP Boulder County in September 2000, following in the footsteps of the original SVP, developed and implemented by Paul Brainerd in Seattle. SVP gives partners a way to engage in a new style of philanthropy and to take an active role in their charitable giving. Please contact Jennie at 303-442-0436, ext. 114, or via email at jennie@svpbouldercounty.org for a current roster of events, to learn more about joining SVP.
SVP Boulder County is a partner driven organization with the partners voting on issue areas, such as youth, early child care or educational opportunities for Latinos, to focus their resources. The partners then, with assistance from The Community Foundation, educate themselves about the selected issue areas, develop funding priorities, select investees (nonprofit organizations) and organize Volunteer Teams to assist investees in identified capacity building areas. Examples of capacity building include: management consulting; accounting and budgeting; income-generating strategies; marketing and public relations; web site and database development; and replication or expansion.
