Amy Batchelor and Andrew Currie founded SVP Boulder County in September 2000, following in the footsteps of the original SVP, developed and implemented by Paul Brainerd in Seattle. SVP gives partners a way to engage in a new style of philanthropy and to take an active role in their charitable giving. Please contact Jennie Arbogash to learn more about joining SVP.
SVP Boulder County is a partner-driven organization with the partners voting on issue areas, such as early child development or poverty & workforce development, to focus their resources. The partners then educate themselves about the selected issue areas, develop funding priorities, select investees (non-profit organizations) and organize themselves in volunteer consulting roles to assist investees in identified capacity building areas. Examples of capacity building include: management consulting; accounting and budgeting; income-generating strategies; marketing and public relations; human resouces, fund development, web site and database development; and replication or expansion.
